Auto Injury Information

Following an auto accident you may have been evaluated in an emergency room for life threatening trauma, lacerations, broken bones, internal bleeding and pain. However, with many, their evaluation of injuries sustained stops there.

Follow up care for non-life threatening injuries are often overlooked. If left untreated these injuries can be debilitating. Injuries such as ligament sprains, muscle strains, and nerve damage need to be evaluated and treated.

Most victims in an auto accident will sustain whiplash injuries. Some will suffer immediate, noticeable pain, but many will experience a delayed onset of pain.

What is Whiplash?

Whiplash is a hyperflexion and hyperextension injury which stretches and tears tissue which results in swelling and inflammation of those tissues.

How is Whiplash treated?
It is treated with chiropractic manipulation and physical therapies such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound, traction and massage therapy.
What symptoms will I most likely have from a Whiplash injury?
Stiffness, pain, numbness, tingling, headaches, blurred vision, neck pain, low back pain, and tenderness are the most common complaints.

Payment Information

The last thing you want to worry about after being in an accident is how to pay for the treatment you need. In an auto accident your personal health insurance is not liable for your injuries. The liable insurance is the responsible party’s auto insurance company. In our office we provide the benefit of care for our patients without out-of-pocket expenses. Our payment process for these cases:
If the responsible party has auto insurance

The responsible party’s insurance and claim information is documented. A lien is sent to the insurance claim adjuster or attorney handling the case. Once patient is released from care the balance is forwarded to the insurance company and payment to our office is made by them when your claim is settled.

If the responsible party does not have auto insurance

Check your own auto insurance policy. Many do not realize that their policy has coverage called medical payment or “med pay”. You are paying additional for this coverage on your policy for these types of situations. If you do have this coverage on your policy we will follow the same process as above by gathering your claim information, sending a lien to the insurance adjuster but in a “med pay” case the bill is forwarded to the insurance after each visit allowing the insurance company to pay your bill as you are receiving treatment.

Our office wants to provide you the care you need as well as being an advocate for you regarding the insurance company.
